Dec. 12, 2020 marks the five-year anniversary of the landmark Paris Climate Agreement – a first-of-its-kind global commitment to address the climate crisis in hopes of avoiding the worst impacts of climate change.
Over the course of his presidency, the outgoing Trump Administration did everything it could to roll back important environmental safeguards aimed at protecting public health and safety, including pulling the U.S. out of the Paris Agreement. While states like Virginia have led the way on climate action over the past four years, comprehensive federal climate action is finally within reach.
The incoming Biden Administration has pledged to rejoin the Paris Agreement, put climate action first, and reestablish America’s credibility as a leader in addressing this crisis. Now, it’s time to get to work.
