‘Greenroots’ program also launches, expanding field presence in House battleground districts
RICHMOND – Today, the Virginia League of Conservation Voters announced that its Political Action Committee, Virginia LCV-PAC, had launched a six-figure digital advertising campaign in four battleground House Districts leading with energy affordability, and holding corporate polluters and Big Tech accountable.
Virginia LCV-PAC has also launched its 2025 Greenroots program in partnership with Climate Action Virginia, embedding six organizers in five battleground House districts to help engage and turn out voters in the final weeks of the electoral cycle for pro-environmental candidates.
“At at time when polluters and big corporations are lining their pockets like never before, with Virginia families footing the bill, it’s imperative that we elect leaders up and down the ticket this November who will stand up for an affordable, clean energy future and put Virginians first,” said Michael Town, executive director of the Virginia League of Conservation Voters. “This is why we’re working hard to reach as many voters as we can in the lead-up to Election Day. After four years of stalled progress in Virginia, and Trump administration policies leading to rising power bills and lining billionaire pockets, we need leaders who will get our Commonwealth back on track cutting energy costs and pollution, and protecting communities.”
The $280,000 digital program launched this week in House Districts 30 (McAuliff), 57 (Nivar), 82 (Pope Adams) and 97 (Feggans) with ads like this one on energy costs, and this one on data centers. The ads will be running non-stop until Election Day across a number of social media and streaming platforms. Greenroots formally kicked off on Sept. 23 with organizers in the field in House Districts 57 (Nivar), 73 (Mehta), 82 (Pope Adams), 89 (Carnegie) and 97 (Feggans).
The sum of these investments bring the organization’s total campaign to $2.7 million this cycle as they work toward securing the next “Conservation Majority” in Virginia.
Virginia LCV-PAC also continues its metro-Richmond canvass operation to elect Abigail Spanberger, Ghazala Hashmi and Jay Jones, where they have knocked on more than 100,000 doors to-date with 25 days left in the campaign.
