Acting under Executive Order 57 from Governor McAuliffe, Virginia’s Secretary of Natural Resources Molly Ward will over the next several months work with stakeholders to lay the groundwork for a state-based regulation that will in many ways mirror the federal Clean Power Plan currently on hold.
This group begins its work later this month and as a devoted conservationist, it’s important that the McAuliffe administration hears from you throughout this process.
The climate impacts are too great in Virginia for us to sit this one out.
Virginia needs a plan that cuts overall emissions and also covers existing power plants and those built in the future to ensure we’re enacting meaningful change and leveling the playing field when it comes to clean, renewable energy.
While the rest of the nation is taking a wait-and-see approach on cutting carbon pollution, Virginia is moving forward. Help make sure we’re headed in the right direction.
