Over the next couple weeks, lawmakers will work to address the state budget while also taking up a host of criminal and social justice reforms, as protests against police brutality and systemic racism continue in our streets and as we still grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic.
While 2020 pre-COVID-19 saw lawmakers pass an incredible budget for conservation, this funding is now on the table as the legislature works to fill gaps created by the economic downturn. Our message to lawmakers is simple: investments in our environment are investments in our health.
Join us in calling on lawmakers to pass a budget that protects clean water and our environment, protects communities from pollution, and that creates more equitable access to nature.
