RICHMOND – Today, Virginia voters approved a temporary redistricting plan to restore balance and fairness to the 2026 midterm elections following MAGA gerrymandering efforts in Republican-led states intended to pack Congress and help President Trump continue driving his extreme agenda and avoid accountability for the remainder of his term.
In response to today’s outcome, Lee Francis, Chief Program and Communications Officer for the Virginia League of Conservation Voters, issued the following statement:
“Virginia is the birthplace of American democracy, and today Virginia voters took a big step forward to defend it from MAGA attacks intended to pack Congress and continue to allow unchecked power on the most extreme, divisive and corrupt Presidential Administration in our nation’s history. We hope today’s outcome helps restore accountability and balance, and that brighter days are ahead for our country and our democracy.”
