Heather McGrew joined Virginia LCV as the Director of Operations in 2026.
Heather has worked in nonprofit executive management roles since 2002 and has held roles running organizational operations since 2010. She was most recently the COO for the National Employment Law Project (NELP). Founded in 1969, NELP is a nonprofit advocacy organization dedicated to building a just and inclusive economy where all workers have expansive rights and thrive in good jobs. Prior joining NELP, Heather served as the COO for the Young Survival Coalition, which is a direct service organization that supports the young breast cancer community. From 2002 to 2009, Heather led Echoing Green’s international leadership program for social entrepreneurs.
Prior to her nonprofit career, Heather worked in the private sector in telecommunications and technology.
She received her bachelor’s from the University of Virginia and her master’s from UVA’s Darden School of Business.
Heather loves to hike. She enjoys volunteering with the James River Park System and exploring the beautiful Virginia State Parks.
