Virginia LCV statement on passing of Senator John Miller

Today, we were saddened to hear news of State Senator John Miller’s sudden and unexpected passing. The longtime statesman and Virginia League of Conservation Voters “Legislative Hero” had just begun serving his third term representing the 1st District in the State Senate.

In response to this sad news, Michael Town, executive director of Virginia LCV, offers the following statement:

“Today, we’ve lost much, much more than just a conservation voter in the state senate – we’ve lost a truly compassionate, caring statesman who came to Richmond for all the right reasons.

“John will be sorely missed in the legislature and across the 1st District and truly leaves some giant shoes to fill. We wish his family and loved ones our sincerest condolences. ”
