RICHMOND – Today, the Spanberger Transition Team released the Governor-elect’s affordable energy agenda for the coming legislative session, which included key policies like expanding energy storage, strengthening energy efficiency programs, and cutting red tape for rooftop solar.
In response to today’s announcement, Michael Town, executive director of the Virginia League of Conservation Voters, released the following statement:
“Governor-elect Spanberger is wasting no time delivering on her promises to cut energy costs for Virginians. The agenda she laid out today goes a long way toward getting more clean, affordable energy online, holding utilities and big corporations accountable, and cutting energy bills. We look forward to working with lawmakers to pass this ambitious agenda in the coming legislative session as part of a larger effort aimed at securing a clean, affordable energy transition that puts Virginians first.”
