Virginia LCV will be joining the Center for Sustainable Communities for their Climate and Energy Resilience Community Engagement and Empowerment Day as part of their three-day climate and energy justice event. The Climate and Energy Resilience Campaign and Town Hall is a community-focused, multi-day education, awareness, community engagement, and action series of events designed to create a movement across the city and region toward fair access to sustainable, affordable energy resources and our energy system. These events bring together residents, advocates, activists, scientists, government and elected officials, researchers and experts to discuss issues like rising utility bills, pollution in frontline communities, local climate impacts and mitigation, and to plan for a fair transition to clean and sustainable energy. The event will also host specialty workshops designed to empower residents and provide immediate relief with the use of free tools, resources and techniques to mitigate the high and growing cost of energy (i.e., lowering your power bills, reducing energy burden).
