Susan Lang is an environmental planner and advocate with over three decades of experience. Her career includes service as a U.S. Army Officer, leadership roles in marketing, and extensive environmental federal service with the Defense Logistics Agency Pollution Prevention Branch, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Environmental Office, and Environmental Planning at Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Norfolk, where she specialized in climate change adaptation and resilience planning and received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award. She has led award-winning pollution prevention initiatives, including two White House Environmental Awards, and remains actively engaged in environmental advocacy and community service. Susan is a board member of the Virginia League of Conservation Voters, former 1st Vice Chair of the Chesapeake Democratic Committee and is a member of various advocacy groups in the Hampton Roads region. She holds a BS in Urban & Regional Planning/Geography from UNC Charlotte, an MBA from the University of Hawaiʻi, and an MS in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University and was an AICP-credentialed planner and North Carolina Master Gardener.’
