Legislation to ban fracking in Eastern Virginia and protect our coast from offshore drilling is moving forward at the General Assembly. If you care about clean drinking water, tar-free beaches and healthy fisheries, your lawmaker needs to hear from you.
SB 106 would ban fracking on top of Virginia’s largest freshwater aquifer, protecting a vital source of drinking water for 4 million Virginians. SB 795 would register Virginia’s official opposition to offshore drilling and prevent any leaky oil and gas infrastructure from crossing state waters.
Both of these bills are vital for our clean energy future, our economy, and our environment. Join us in calling on the General Assembly to do the right thing for clean water and our coast!
